Valentines Day- where is the love?

I've always looked upon V-day as the day that we can love, learn to love and be loved. Not just love that seems to only be celebrated if you have a 'boyfriend or Husband, a Wife or Girrrrlfriend' but a day we can celebrate all the love in our lives. Love between Family, Friends, Close friends, and our Spouses. Could you ever imagine that love not being there one day? All of a sudden, gone? I'm not a big spender on 'things' that aren't sentimental. I love the hand-made or experiences because afterall I think memories are greater than 'things'.

The reality is that the wonderful word Love is more than just a word. Love extends through every day life, though we don't know it consciously- it is there. It is there in the form of holding the elevator for someone, holding the door open for the person passing through, a thoughtful offer of looking after someones child for the evening so the parents can go out, saying thank you and please, the list is infinite. We sometimes get so wrapped up in the meaning of Valentines Day that we lose sight of what love really means in our lives and who it's shared with.

Overall, I hope Valentine's Day is one that you can look upon and say, yes I know what love is and I am loved. So the next time you hold that door open for someone, the next time you make some brownies for a special someone, or offer to help someone up who has fallen, remind yourself, this is a form of Love and Love is everywhere, not just on Valentine's Day.

Happy V-day all.
